"Getting to Know More: PCAD Section"

Updated: Feb 15, 2023

The Police Community Affairs Division of the PNP plays an important role in promoting community involvement in crime prevention, crime control, and law enforcement activities. The section implements various programs and activities aimed at enhancing public trust and confidence in the police and improving the image of the PNP. Some of the programs include community policing, regular police-community dialogues, neighborhood watch programs, and other community-oriented initiatives.[1]

In addition to promoting community-police relations, the PCR section also serves as the liaison between the PNP and various organizations and groups in the community. It provides a platform for the PNP to receive feedback and suggestions from the community on various issues, such as police operations and policies. This enables the PNP to address the concerns of the community and to improve its services.

As future law enforcers of the community, we need to engage ourselves in various activities that involve social engagement that helps to promote and improve the relationship of police service within the community. This will be a great help in developing a good image of the Institution to the public, especially to the people to whom we render our service.

We have the responsibility to expose ourselves to the environment we work in. The service that we offer to the people helps so much in terms of improving our image and relationship with them, it builds up the bond that we all need in creating a better and safer place to live in. As a public safety leader, it is my responsibility to develop a better relationship with them through social engagements that involve community relation engagements.

In conclusion, the PCAD section of the PNP is an important aspect of the police force that plays a critical role in maintaining peace and order in the community. Its efforts to promote a positive relationship between the police and the community, address community concerns, and improve police services help to build a safer and more secure society.
