On this day, I was able to attend an EMPO of Sta Rosa City Police Station. EMPO stands for Enhance Managing Patrol Operations. The first time I attended this kind of activity was when we paid courtesy call to the chief of police of Digos City. At first, I did not have any idea what the event would be. I thought it was a seminar or just a dialogue. We were not able to finish the EMPO in Digos City because we were instructed to leave the hall at the middle of the activity. So, when the duty OD told us that there would be an EMPO at 1 in the afternoon, I immediately volunteered to be an observer because I was not able to finish one last time.
There, I learned a lot of things. First, I was able to understand more about EMPO. Second, I was able to know deeper the functions and performance of each section. Third, I have realized that one can see and assess how effective you are as a leader and as an officer among your subordinates.

Enhanced Managing Police Operations strengthens the anti-criminality with regular law enforcement activities through police presence and focused law enforcement operations, crime investigation and solution, security measures through target hardening, border control, social investigation, community partnership, proper deployment of resources; and public affairs through the quad media to promote public awareness and community support.
During EMPO at a police station, the chiefs of each section thoroughly discussed their significant accomplishments, events, announcements, and concerns with the Chief of Police.
What I like about this activity is the progress and performance of every section are closely monitored every week. If there are problems that need to be addressed, they can be immediately given a solution. Activities of each section in strengthening anti-criminality campaigns are also being presented in EMPO. All programs, projects, and activities of each section are being assessed if they are able to meet their goals and objectives.
During the activity, I was able to relate the 7th principle of the 11 Timeless Leadership Principles in the leadership shown by the Chief of Police of Sta. Rosa City which was “Ensure that assigned task is understood, supervised, and accomplished.” I saw how he made sure that all taskings of each section are being complied well.
